CHICAGO – The Chicago State men's tennis team closed out its season-opening four-match road swing tonight with a 7-0 defeat to host DePaul at the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Club in Lincoln Park on the city's north side.

The Blue Demons took two of the three doubles matches to claim an early 1-0 lead, but the duo of juniors Christian Gonzalez (Mungia, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola) and Gonzalo Martinez (Madrid, Spain/Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo) hiked their record to 7-6 after capturing a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles over Tim Corwin and Conor O'Meara.

Gonzalez came back later in the match and had a three-set showdown at No. 4 singles against Tamas Zador. After Zador won the first set by a 6-3 margin, Gonzalez dominated the second set via a 6-0 margin before falling in the third set by a close 10-8 score.
