CHICAGO - The Chicago State women's basketball team travels west this week for a two-game Western Athletic Conference road swing which begins Thursday night at CSU Bakersfield with the tip-off from the Icardo Center set for 7 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – Chicago State finished up a three-game homestand at the Jones Convocation Center last Saturday with a 57-46 defeat to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with redshirt junior guard Jessica Cerda (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) leading the team with 17 points. The Green and White are led by sophomore guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) with 14.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 16 blocked shots on the year. Cerda ranks second with 9.3 points a game, while senior guard Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) leads the team in steal at 1.6 per game and is scoring nine points per contest.

SCOUTING CSUB – CSU Bakersfield has produced a 7-11 record in Thursday's showdown with the Cougars and has amassed a 2-2 record against WAC opponents while recording wins in three of its last five games. Leading the Roadrunners is redshirt senior forward Erika Williams, who is averaging 11.9 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game while connecting on 44 percent of her attempts from three-point range. Junior forward Aja Williams ranks second in scoring at 10.7 points a game and senior center Brittany Sims is grabbing a team-leading average of 5.9 rebounds per contest.

SERIES HISTORY – CSU Bakersfield leads Chicago State in the all-time series by a 10-1 advantage and has won the last 10 meetings since March of 2011. The Roadrunners swept last season's series with the Cougars which included a 73-46 victory in Bakersfield on Jan. 7, 2016.

KA'S DOUBLE STACK – Allen currently leads the WAC in double-doubles with five following her 13-point, 12-rebound performance last Saturday against UTRGV.

WAC LEADER – Nix has been playing like an ironwoman for the Cougars in WAC games as she leads the league in minutes played with an average of 40.2 a game.

UP NEXT – The Cougars close out the weekend in Phoenix on Saturday night against Grand Canyon in the WAC Game of the Week on ESPN3 with the opening tip slated to begin at 8 p.m.
