CHICAGO - Chicago State women's basketball hosts the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in a Western Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center with a start time of 2 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – CSU is completing a three-game homestand with Saturday's contest and returns to action after falling to Seattle U last Saturday. Sophomore guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods), who averaged a double-double last week with 14.5 points and 10 rebounds a game, leads the Green and White in scoring (14.4 ppg), rebounding (6.3 rpg), assists (2.2 apg) and blocked shots (13). Senior guard Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) is second on the team with 9.3 points per contest in addition to posting a team-best 1.7 steal a game and has hit 48 percent of her shots from the field.

SCOUTING UTRGV – The Vaqueros look to snap a two-game losing streak this Saturday while producing a 12-8 overall record with an even 2-2 mark in WAC play following road defeats last week at CSU Bakersfield (46-74) and Grand Canyon (59-60). Senior guard Shawnté Goff is the team's leading scorer with 14.7 points a game to go along with dishing out a team-high 3.1 assists. Senior forward Mary Savoy is recording averages of 11.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocked shots a game.

SERIES HISTORY – UTRGV holds a 16-8 lead in the all-time series with CSU and has won the last 13 meetings since 2011-12 that includes a 71-43 victory at the UTRGV Fieldhouse in Edinburg on Jan. 5.

NATIONALLY-KNOWN – Allen ranks among the NCAA Division I free throw shooting leaders as she is tied for 31st in made free throws with 83. She currently ranks fifth in the WAC in free throw percentage (.748).

UP NEXT – CSU concludes the month out west next week with a pair of WAC matchups that start on Thursday, Jan. 26 at CSU Bakersfield with a start time of 7 p.m.
