The Chicago State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mourns the loss of former women's track and field/cross country head coach Mamie Rallins, who recently passed away in a car accident in Fremont, Ohio.

Rallins, a Chicago native, coached the Green and White for four seasons from 2002-06 in addition to being as head coach at Ohio State and Hampton while also serving as an assistant coach for the United State Olympic Team in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

She competed as a hurdler for the United States at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City and the 1972 Olympics in Munich prior to beginning her collegiate coaching career.

CSU Athletics would like to express deep sympathy to the family of Coach Rollins. Her contributions to Cougar Athletics will be deeply appreciated and she will be forever missed.
