Allen Leads CSU with Season-High 28 Points against CSU Bakersfield

CHICAGO – Freshman Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) scored a season-high 28 points for the Chicago State women's basketball team as it had its two-game winning streak snapped this afternoon with a 74-61 loss to Western Athletic Conference foe CSU Bakersfield at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center.
 
Allen shot 11-of-22 from the field while adding eight rebounds, three steals and a game-high two blocked shots for the Cougars (4-19, 2-7).
 
CSU also received 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and a game-high four steals from senior Jasmine Sanders (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) and redshirt sophomore Jessica Cerda (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) added 11 points.
 
Three players scored in double figures for the Roadrunners (8-16, 5-4) with senior Batabe Zempare leading the way with 16 points, a game-high nine rebounds and three steals.
 
The Green and White are idle until Feb. 13 when they head southwest to New Mexico for a contest against defending WAC champion New Mexico State at the Pan American Center with a start time of 2 p.m., Mountain Time.
