Allen Leads Three CSU Players in Double Figures at New Mexico State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Chicago State women's basketball had three players score in double figures as it fell to Western Athletic Conference-leading New Mexico State here Saturday afternoon at the Pan American Center by a score of 76-63.
 
The Green and White was led by freshman Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) as she scored a team-high 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and drained all eight of her free throw attempts in addition to grabbing eight rebounds.
 
Seniors Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) and Jasmine Sanders (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) each contributed 13 points, while freshman Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) recorded a pair of game highs with a season-best 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for CSU (4-20, 2-8).
 
The Aggies (21-3, 10-0) had four players produce double figure scoring on the day with Brooke Salas scoring a game-leading 22 points.
 
The Cougars return to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center next week for their final two home games of the regular season beginning Thursday night against Utah Valley with the opening tip set for 7 p.m.
