Three Players Score in Double Figures for CSU Women at Cincinnati

CINCINNATI – Chicago State women's basketball had three players score in double figures during its 2016 road finale here tonight as it fell to host Cincinnati by a score of 81-53 at UC's Fifth Third Arena in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
 
CSU shot 53 percent from the field in the first quarter to post a slim 20-17 lead before UC captured the second quarter by a 15-12 margin to send the game into halftime with the score tied at 32 apiece.
 
The Bearcats (9-4) would go on to outscore the Green and White in the second half by a 47-21 margin in the second half that included posting a 26-6 advantage in the third quarter for the win.
 
Senior Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) and redshirt junior Jessica Cerda (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) each recorded 11 points and three assists to pace Chicago State with Nix shooting 5-of-10 from the field. Junior Destiny Harris (Crete, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) nearly tallied a double-double as she produced 10 points and eight rebounds.
 
Bianca Quisenberry scored a game-high 16 points to lead four players in double figures and Chelsea Warren grabbed a game-leading 10 rebounds for Cincinnati.
 
The Cougars (0-13) close out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Friday afternoon at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center against former Great West Conference rival NJIT with the opening tip set for 2 p.m.
