Cougars Drop 80-60 Decision at Home to Oakland

CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's basketball team made its return to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center tonight, but Oakland played spoiler on that return after claiming an 80-60 victory.
 
CSU (0-6) had three players score in double figures with sophomore Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) tallying 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. Senior Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) contributed a season-best 11 points and sophomore Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) added 10 points to go along with a game-high three blocked shots.
 
Senior Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) posted seven points, while sophomore Tiana Thomas (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and equaled another career high total with three steals.
 
Sha'Keya Graves shot 9-of-14 from the field to score a game-high 21 points for Oakland (4-2), who also had three players score in double figures.
 
The Cougars head to Muncie, Ind., on Thursday night to open a four-game road swing against host Ball State in an ESPN3 live broadcast beginning at 6 p.m.
