OPENING TIP – Fresh off a two-game road swing last week, the Chicago State women's basketball team returns to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Tuesday night when it takes on Horizon League foe Oakland with a start time of 7 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – CSU looks to close out the first month of the season on a good note as it beings a 0-5 season record after dropping a 63-55 decision at Morehead State last Saturday. The Cougars are led by sophomore forward/center Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne), who is currently averaging a double-double at 19.4 points and 12.6 rebounds per game to go along with 4.5 blocked shots and two steals per contest. Sophomore guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) is second in scoring at 14 points a game while dishing out a team-best 3.6 assists per game, while junior guard Destiny Harris (Crete, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) is grabbing six rebounds a game to rank second on the team.

SCOUTING OAKLAND – Oakland heads to the Windy City with a record of 3-2 that included a 1-1 mark last week with a 70-67 double overtime loss at Central Michigan followed by a 99-32 victory over Concordia (Mich.) at home. Sophomore guard Taylor Jones leads the Golden Grizzlies, who have three players averaging double figure scoring, with 19.4 points per game, while redshirt senior forward Hannah Little is producing a double-double of 11.4 points and a team-best 11.4 rebounds a game in addition to averaging three steals per contest. Redshirt junior guard Sha'Keya Graves is recording a team-leading 3.8 assists a game.

SERIES HISTORY – Since first meeting up as members of the Summit League in 1999, Oakland has tallied a 15-5 record in the all-time series with Chicago State that has included victories in the last three meetings. The Golden Grizzlies claimed a 74-51 win over the Cougars at the JCC last season on Dec. 19, 2015 with Sanders leading the way for the Green and White with 14 points.

WAC POW – Sanders was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday morning after recording averages of 27 points, 18 rebounds and 5.5 blocked shots per game for CSU last week. The honor is the first for her and the Cougars this season.

TOY DRIVE – The CSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is teaming up with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to host a toy drive for Tuesday's game where patrons can gain free admission with the donation of a new toy.

UP NEXT – The Cougars head to Indiana to begin a four-game road swing on Thursday, Dec. 1 at Ball State in a live ESPN3 broadcast from Worthen Arena in Muncie with the opening tip set for 6 p.m.
