CHICAGO – Chicago State University women's basketball head coach Angela Jackson announced today the recent signing of five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to compete for the Cougars beginning this fall.

Joining the Green and White as newcomers this August are freshmen Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio), Rachel Browne (Gahanna, Ohio), Nadia Miller (Chicago, Ill.), Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Tiana Thomas (Rockton, Ill.).

"We look forward to these five newcomers to make an immediate impact in our program beginning this fall," stated Jackson. "We expect all five of them to pave the way in rebuilding and changing the Chicago State Women's Basketball program. This is a group that we're looking to help get us back into a position where we're winning games and annually competing for the Western Athletic Conference championship."

Kaylee Allen
5-9 – Guard
Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods

Earned Honorable Mention Associated Press All-Southwest District honors after her senior season at Winton Woods… averaged 14.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.8 assists per game… earned her team's Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Offensive Player, Best Rebounder and Best Defensive Player awards… honor roll student at WWHS.

Jackson on Allen: Kaylee is a small forward with nice size that score and rebound. She has the determination to get things done. She is not afraid to take the big shot or not afraid to get in with the post players and mix it up. Kaylee is the typical three that we've been searching for in our program.

Rachel Browne
6-2 – Forward/Center
Gahanna, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln

Helped Gahanna Lincoln finish 20-7 in her senior season with a 9-5 mark in the Ohio Capital Conference-Ohio Division… played in the Ohio All-Star Basketball Classic.

Jackson on Browne: Rachel is definitely a center that is a very good at rebounding. She is a post player that can step out to face the basket and shoot the free throw line jump shot. She runs the floor very well and hustles on defense. She understands what it takes defensively to control the game, is a hard worker with a great attitude and comes from a great family.

Nadia Miller
5-9 – Guard
Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale

Helped guide North Lawndale to a 19-12 record in 2014-15 and won the Nazareth regional title in the 2015 IHSA Class 3A state tournament… earned all-tournament team honors at the 2014 State Farm Classic Large School tournament after helping the Phoenix finish third… All-Chicago Public League honoree as a junior in 2014… All-CPL Windy City West Conference selection… high school teammate of current CSU freshman forward Precious Harden (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale).

Jackson on Miller: Nadia is a utility player. She's somebody that is going to play every position on the perimeter for us. She can score, she can pass and she works hard. She understands the game of basketball and is a real competitor.

Sh'Toya Sanders
6-2 – Forward
Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne

Claimed first team all-SAC accolades… honorable mention all-state selection by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association… averaged 14.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.6 blocked shots and 1.9 steals per game as a senior… earned the McDonald's/Fort Wayne Mad Ants Player of the Month award for Jan. 2015… selected to play in the Northwest All-Star Clash.

Jackson on Sanders: Sh'Toya is definitely the type of player that's looking to grab every rebound that comes off the rim. She is a natural rebounder and always looks to score in the low blocks. She understands that (rebounding) is her role, it's what she likes to do and she does it very, very well."

Tiana Thomas
5-7 – Guard
Rockton, Ill./Hononegah

Played all four years at Hononegah… helped her team advance to the Hononegah regional title game of the 2015 IHSA Class 4A state tournament… named to the Northern Illinois Conference (NIC-10) team at the Rising Stars Classic.

Jackson on Thomas: Tiana is one of those players that does a little bit of everything well. She is a natural scorer that can shoot the heck out of the ball, put the ball on the floor and get to the basket."
