Men’s Tennis Ends Season with 4-1 Defeat to Seattle at WAC Tournament

KANSAS CITY – Fourth-seeded Chicago State men's tennis ended its 2014-15 season here this afternoon with a 4-1 defeat to fifth-seeded Seattle in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at UMKC's Plaza Tennis Center.

The Redhawks, who will take on top-seeded New Mexico State in tomorrow's semfinal round, captured the doubles points after winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by identical 8-6 scores. SU then captured singles wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 to clinch the match.

Senior Sergiu Muresan (Roman, Romania) captured CSU's lone point thanks to a 6-3, 6-2 win over John Stormans at No. 2 singles in his final collegiate match. Muresan finished the season with a 21-13 singles record that included a 13-7 mark in dual matches.

The Cougars closed out the season with a 5-19 record.
