Men’s Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision to Texas-Pan American

Senior Mario Noboa teamed with fellow classmate Sergiu Muresan to capture a win at No. 1 doubles Friday against Texas-Pan American
HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Chicago State men's tennis opened the second cluster of Western Athletic Conference play here Friday morning as it dropped a 6-1 decision to Texas-Pan American at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Green and White captured a victory at No. 1 doubles when the senior tandem of Sergiu Muresan (Roman, Romania) and Mario Noboa (Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador) defeated UTPA's Juan Cruz Soria and  Koby Jansen by a close 8-6 margin, but the Broncs claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Freshman Christian Gonzalez (Mungia, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola) earned a win at No. 4 singles for the Cougars after defeating Elliot Johnstone in three sets by scores of 3-6, 6-2 and 6-4.

Chicago State continues WAC play on Saturday at the CSU Tennis Courts against conference-leading New Mexico State with a start time of 12 p.m.
