Men's Tennis fall 4-3 to Wayne State

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Wayne State University Men's tennis team defeated Chicago State, 4-3.

In doubles, the Cougars fell in all three matches. Luke Ruocco teamed with Trey Keating to beat Sergiu Muresan (Roman, Romania) and Mario Noboa (Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador) 8-7 (7-5) at No. 1. Rashley Yeremia (Jakarta, Indonesia) and Julian Chavez (Bogota, Colombia) lost 8-4 to Mohamed Fazyl Kechal and Gopinath Menta at No. 2 doubles. Harvey Reed and Clement Charriere collected the doubles point with an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles over Rohan Wattley (Slough, United Kingdom/Burnham) and Christian Gonzalez (Mungia, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola).

At No.1 singles, Fazyl Kechai won 6-4, 6-2 over Mario Noboa (Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador). Sergiu Muresan (Roman, Romania) won his singles match over Clement Charriere at No.2 singles, 6-3, 6-2. At No.4 singles Christian Gonzalez (Mungia, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola) beat Trey Keating 6-1, 6-3. Rohan Wattley (Slough, United Kingdom/Burnham) also won his singles match at No. 5 single 6-4, 7-5. Ryan Carlson won the No. 6 singles flight over Luis Ulloa (Guayaquil, Ecuador) 6-3, 6-2. Luke Ruocco secured the victory for Wayne State with a win at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) against Rashley Yeremia (Jakarta, Indonesia).

The CSU Men's Tennis travel to Naperville, IL to take on North Central February 26th at 6:00pm
