Box Score Chicago, IL - Chicago State (4-20, 1-9 WAC) lost to Bakersfield (19-7, 8-3 WAC) 83-57 Thursday night at the Jones Convocation Center.
Play was back and forth in the first five minutes until Bakersfield went on 12 point run to take a 30-14 lead over the Cougars with 7:27 remaining in first half. At the end of the first, the Cougars would trail the Roadrunners 44-25. In the second half, the Cougars struggles continued as the Roadrunners capitalized on CSU's sloppy play, turning the 27 Chicago State turnovers into 29 points.
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) led the Cougars with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
Sarah Amalou (Copenhagen, Denmark/Falkonergaardens Gymnasium og HF) also contributed 12 points to the team effort. The Cougars outrebounded the Roadrunners 37-36, 13-8 on the offensive glass.
Chicago State is home this Saturday (Feb.21) to take on Seattle University in conference play at 2:05pm CT
