SCOUTING CSU – CSU has produced a season record of 1-8 heading into Tuesday's contest at JSU after opening its short road swing last Saturday with a 62-51 defeat at IPFW. Senior forward Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) led the Green and White with her fifth double-double of the season as she posted season highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds versus the Mastodons. The Cougars are paced by freshman guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) with 12.7 points per game, while Murphy is second in scoring at 12.4 points a game to go along with posting team highs of 9.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest. Freshman forward/center Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) leads the Western Athletic Conference in blocked shots with an average of two swats a game and senior guard Jasmine Sanders (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) is averaging a team-best 1.9 steals per game.

SCOUTING JSU – Jackson State, winners of three of its last five contests, heads into Tuesday's game with a 4-3 record on the year. The Lady Tigers saw their two-game winning streak snapped last Friday after falling at New Orleans by a score of 85-68 with sophomore guard Derica Wiggins scoring a team-high 14 points. Wiggins leads JSU in scoring with an average of 12 points per game, while senior forward Nyahok Bile is averaging a team-best 6.1 rebounds a game and senior guard Bridget Robinson is tallying a team-high 1.7 steals per contest. Senior guard Krystal Nailer is second on the team with 8.1 points per game in addition to dishing out a team-high 2.1 assists a game.

SERIES HISTORY – Jackson State has posted a 2-0 lead in the all-time series with Chicago State while Tuesday's game marks the second consecutive season the two schools have met. The Lady Tigers captured a 70-60 win over the Cougars at the Jones Convocation Center on Nov. 26, 2014. Three CSU players scored in double figures in the game with Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) leading the way with 14 points.

DOUBLE DIP – Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) has shown a knack for recording double-doubles this season as she currently ranks in a tie for 11th place in NCAA Division I with five after posting 18 points and 14 rebounds last Saturday at IPFW.

GUNNING FOR THAT #1 SPOT – Murphy continues her ascent upwards on CSU's career record book as she is currently third in blocked shots (91) and tied for third in rebounds (682) on CSU's career record book. She is now 35 blocks and 28 rebounds shy of becoming the school record holder in both categories.

UP NEXT – The Cougars return to the Jones Convocation Center this Saturday afternoon as they will take on former Mid-Continent Conference foe Oakland with a start time of 2 p.m.
