OPENING TIP – Chicago State women's basketball opens a two-game road swing on Saturday morning as it travels to Indiana to battle IPFW at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne with a start time of 11 a.m., Central Time.

SCOUTING CSU – The Green and White look to start off this road swing on a good note coming into Fort Wayne with a season record of 1-7. CSU was last in action on Dec. 5 as it dropped a 63-54 decision to Big 12 Conference member Kansas State at the Jones Convocation Center to conclude a three-game homestand. The Cougars are led by freshman guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) as she is averaging 14.4 points per game, while senior forward Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) is first on the team in rebounds (8.5 rpg) and assists (2.6 apg) to go along with 11.8 points a game. Freshman forward/center Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) is tops in the Western Athletic Conference in blocked shots with an average of two blocks per game.

SCOUTING IPFW – IPFW has produced a season record of 3-6 and is currently on a six-game losing streak dating back to Nov. 21 after suffering a heartbreaking 64-63 defeat Wednesday night at Detroit despite receiving a 22-point performance from senior guard Kamilah Carter. Carter is averaging a team-best 17.1 points per game, while freshman guard Josie Fisher leads the Mastodons with 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals a game to go along with 13.2 points per contest. Redshirt sophomore forward Keanna Gary is grabbing a team-leading 6.3 rebounds a game.

SERIES HISTORY – IPFW holds a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series with Chicago State and Saturday's game marks the second meeting between the two schools since 2010. The Mastodons posted a 79-62 victory in the teams' last battle on Dec. 4, 2014 at the Jones Convocation Center with three CSU players scoring in double figures led by Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville)' 16 points.

THE FRESHMAN 20 – Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) made history against Bradley on Dec. 2 as she tallied 21 points to become the first CSU freshman player in over eight seasons to score 20 or more points in a game. The last Cougar freshman to hit that plateau was all-time leading scorer Courtney Waldon, who tallied a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds in her first collegiate game against Milwaukee on Nov. 9, 2007.

CSU'S BLOCK PARTY – The Cougars continue to come into their own on the defensive front as they are second in the Western Athletic Conference in blocked shots with an average of 4.8 swats per game. Freshman Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) leads the WAC in blocks at two swats per game, while Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) is fourth in the league with 1.5 blocks a game.
