Box Score NEWARK, N.J. - The Cougars played a strong first half finding themselves down only by one point, trailing NJIT 20-19. The team went cold in the second half, as CSU did not score a basket until just under the 12-minute mark.
Chanel Wilson-Stewart (Hillside, Ill./St. Joseph's) snapped the cold streak by hitting a layup as NJIT led by only nine points 33-24. The Cougars could not close the gap as they fell to NJIT, 59-48, on Sunday afternoon in Newark, N.J.
Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) and
Tashuna Brown (New York, N.Y/Randolph) eached netted 11 points in the loss, which moves their record to 2-11 on the season.
The Women are back in action at home on January 7th against Purdue Calument (IN.). Tip-off is at 7pm and the game will be streamed via the WAC Digital Network.
