Box Score Seattle, Wa - Chicago State Unversity women's basketball (2-14, 0-3 WAC) was unable to come away with a win over
Seattle University (5-14, 2-2 WAC) in Western Athletic Conference play on Thursday night.
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) traded three-pointers with Crystal Allen over the first minute and a half but the Redhawks would answer with a 12-0 run to lead, 15-3, by the 12:24 mark of the first half.
Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) cut off the run with a three-pointer at 11:15 but the Redhawks continued to play well as they led by 20, 30-10, with just under six minutes left before halftime. SU took a 40-19, into the half.
In the second half, SU extended their lead to 26 two different times, but Chicago State would go on a 16-6 run to cut their deficit to 16, 53-37, on contributions by four different Cougars. The Cougars would not close the deficit any further as Seattle earned the 75-51 victory over CSU.
Tashuna Brown (New York, N.Y/Randolph) and
Jasmine Sanders (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) led the Cougars with 11 and 10 points respectively. The Cougars remain on the road as they face Cal State Bakersfield on January 24
th.
