Creighton Picks Up 6-1 Victory Over Chicago State Men's Tennis

Omaha, Neb. - The Chicago State men's tennis team was defeated by the Creighton Bluejays 6-1 on Saturday afternoon (March 29). 

Junior Sergiu Muresan (Roman, Romania/) was a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 winner over Elliot Baker to score the only point for the Cougars. 

In singles action, junior Mario Noboa (Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador/) lost 6-2, 6-2 to Billy Paluch. Junior Luis Ullioa was taken down 6-0, 6-0 by Jake Glazer. Freshman Uros Pajic (Smederevo, Seribia/Maple Valley) fell to Quinn Dippel 6-2, 6-1. Harrison Lang was victorious over junior Julian Chavez (Bogota, Colombia/) 6-1, 6-3. Junior Rashley Yeremia (Jakarta, Indonesia/) succumbed to Aaron Chalstrom 6-1, 6-2.

During doubles competition, the Bluejays won at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the doubles point. Paluch and Jake Norman won 8-0 over Noboa and Muresan. Ulloa and Pajic were beaten 8-2 by Lang and Dippel. No. 2 doubles went unfinished.

Creighton saw their record jump to 9-4 while Chicago State fell to 3-17. The Cougars return home for a three-match home stand beginning with Roosevelt University on Thursday (Apr. 3). The match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
