Bakersfield, Calif. – The Chicago State women's basketball team fell to the Bakersfield Roadrunners 99-58 at the Icardo Center in Bakersfield, California on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 22).

Tashuna Brown (New York, N.Y/Randolph) set career-highs with 21 points and 15 rebounds. She recorded 12 offensive rebounds in the game. Freshman
Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) had 13 points, four steals which tied her career-high and three assists. Sophomore
Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) had 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal in the loss.
Bakersfield went on a 12-2 run in the opening minutes of the first half and led throughout. They went into halftime with a 59-30 lead after shooting 20-32 (62.5 percent) in the first stanza.Â
The Roadrunners didn't allow the Cougars to get any closer in the second half by outscoring CSU 40-28. They  finished the game shooting 36-63 (57.1 percent) and had 20 assists.
Tyonna Outland led Bakersfield with 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Vines Dajy pitched in 17 points and Melissa Sweat had 16 points in the victory.
CSU falls to 3-23 on the season and 0-13 in the Western Athletic Conference. Bakersfield improved to 16-9 and 10-3 in conference play. The Cougars get back on the court next Saturday (March. 1) vs. Grand Canyon at the Jones Convocation Center. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.Â
