Homewood, Ill. – The Chicago State men's tennis team was taken down by the Grand Canyon Antelopes 6-1 at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racquet and Fitness Club on Saturday afternoon (Feb.22).

Mario Noboa (Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador/) won his second consecutive singles match 6-3, 6-7, 10-4 over Ahmad Saleem to pick up the Cougars' only point of the day. It's Noboa's eighth singles victory of the year which leads the team. Â

Sergiu Muresan (Roman, Romania/) won a set, but fell 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to Nicolas Moulin. Freshman
Uros Pajic (Smederevo, Seribia/Maple Valley) suffered a 6-1, 6-0 defeat to Adrian Legarreta while Benjamin Collomb defeated junior
Rashley Yeremia (Jakarta, Indonesia/) by the same score. Junior
Julian Chavez (Bogota, Colombia/) lost 6-2, 6-1 to Felix Schueller and Alexander Roggenkamp won 6-4, 6-2 over junior
Luis Ulloa (Guayaquil, Ecuador/).
The Lopes won all three doubles matches to win the doubles point. Saleem and Schueller beat Muresan and Noboa 8-4. Legarreta and Moulin had an 8-4 victory over Chavez and Yeremia while Ulloa and Pajic succumbed to Collomb and Roggenkamp 8-2.
The Cougars fell to 0-10 while Grand Canyon improved to 4-3.
Jack Barton's squad returns to action next Saturday (March 1) vs. Quincy University. The match time will be announced at a later date.Â
