Box Score CHICAGO, IL – Chicago State loses 79-62 to IPFW. The Cougars struggled to get their offense clicking on all cylinders as IPFW jumped out to a 19-4 lead at the 10-minute mark of the first half. The Mastodons shot well during the first half, shooting 50% from the field and 66% from long range as they took a 38-17 led into halftime.
The Cougars improved offensively during the second half shooting 51% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. However, it was not enough to close the deficit built from the first half of the game.
Haley Seibert led the Mastodons with 24 points, one block and one steal. Kamilah Carter added 17 points and four assists to their victory.
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) led the Cougars with a team high of 16 points.
Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) pitched in with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists and one steal.
IPFW moves to 2-4 on the season. Chicago State (0-6) looks to secure their first victory at home against DePaul on Dec. 7
th.
