Box Score MILWAUKEE WI - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team took control in the second half to claim a 69-47 victory over Chicago State University Sunday afternoon at the Klotsche Center.
Milwaukee did lead the entire first half, but could not pull away, on top by as many as eight on a pair of occasions. At the end of the first half the lead was seven at 34-27.
The Cougars scored to make it 37-29 and the Milwaukee defense clamped down from there, forcing a pair of misses and 10 turnovers over a span of 7:41 on the clock, with the 17 straight points pushing the lead to 25 at 54-29. The lead never fell under 20 the rest of the way.
Ashley Green led Milwaukee with 25 points and 9 rebounds.
Jakeisha Wells (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East) made six of seven shots scoring 13 points to pace Chicago State in the loss.
