CSU Women’s Basketball Suffers a 70-60 Defeat to Jackson State University

Box Score CHICAGO – Chicago State suffers a 60-70 defeat to Jackson State University. The Cougars took a 40-34 lead into halftime, led by Paris William's nine point and five rebounds.  Their first half defense was solid holding the Lady Tigers to a field goal percentage of 35%, while forcing 10 turnovers.
 
The game took a turn in the second half as Jackson State outscored the Chicago State 36-20, ending the game on a 31-9 run. They held the Cougars to a 29% shooting percentage and earned 11 steals in the half. Coach Jackson commented, "Got off to a great. Now we have to learn how to finish."

Ayanna Fuller-Hardy led the Lady Tigers with a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds. Ke'ra St. John pitched in 13 points and Derica Wiggins had 11 points in the victory. Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) led the Cougars with a team high 14 points. Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) added 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals. 

 Jackson State (1-4) earns their first win of the season, while Chicago State looks for their first victory against Western Michigan University on Saturday (Nov. 29).
