Chicago State Women's Basketball Finishes Road Trip At UTPA

CONFERENCE HISTORY -

This will be Chicago State's first season in the WAC after spending the previous four seasons in the Great West Conference. The Cougars were an independent from 2006-09 after 12 seasons in the Summit League. Prior to their time in the Summit, Chicago State spent one season in the East Coast League (1993-94) and their first seven years in Division I as an independent.

CHICAGO THREE PARTY - 

Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) has had at least one three-pointer in 24 of her last 29 games.Her 105 career three-pointers rank sixth in the program's history.

Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) has made at least one three-pointer in her last 16 games.

GRAND THEFT -

Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) has at least one steal in 22 of her last 27 games.

Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) has at least two steals in 16 of her last 21 games. She also leads the conference in in steals per game (2.6) while Jasmine Sanders (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) ranks third (2.1) and Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) ranks sixth (1.8). 

BLOCK PARTIES ARE FUN -

Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) has 13 blocks in her last nine games. 

The Cougars set a season-high with six blocks at New Mexico State (Jan.16).

DOING IT ALL  - 

Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) has scored at least 10 points in 10 of her last 11 games.  She has scored at least ten points in 27 games dating back to the beginning of the 2012-13 season (57.4 percent).

For the first time in her career, Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) has had at least ten points in six straight games.  She also has two double-doubles during that span.

Assistant coaches Renada Blackburn and Loretta Soria played together from 2002-04 at Chicago State and were coached by Angela Jackson during the 2003-04 season.
