The Chicago State women's basketball (4-19, 2-1 GWC) team enters Saturday's (Feb. 9) Great West Conference game with Texas-Pan American (8-14, 1-3 GWC) sitting in third place in the GWC. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. CT. The Cougars trail Utah Valley and NJIT, who both have 3-1 conference records. The Cougars handed NJIT their only GWC loss of the season.
SERIES HISTORY -
Chicago State leads the all-time NCAA Division I series with UTPA 8-6. The Broncs took all three contests with the Cougars last season, including a 57-51 decision over Chicago State in the GWC Tournament
PINK SHIRTS FOR SALE -
The Chicago State University women's basketball program is selling pink t-shirts with the Chicago State logo to support the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds of the t-shirt sales will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, the official charity of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. Shirts can be purchased before Saturday's game with UTPA. Prices for the shirts: Small - $10, Medium - $12, Large - $15, X-Large - $20 and XX-Large - $25.
DESTINATION: WAC 2013-14 -
Chicago State has accepted an invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference. The Cougars will join the WAC for the 2013-14 season. Thanks to UMKC joining the WAC on Thursday (Feb. 7), the membership for the WAC in 2013-14 includes: California State University, Bakersfield; Chicago State University; Grand Canyon University; University of Idaho; University of Missouri Kansas City; New Mexico State University; Seattle University, The University of Texas-Pan American and Utah Valley University.
TWO SIGN NLI's -
Jessica Cerda (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) and Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) have each signed on to join the Cougars in 2013-14. Cerda is a 5-10 guard who was named a Top 50 player by the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune. Harris is a 5-9 guard broke her school's career 3-point record (133) and single game scoring record (49).

Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) has scored in double-digits in six of the last seven games.
WILD WILD WEST -
The Great West Conference slate has presented a new season for the Cougars. Thanks to wins over Houston Baptist and NJIT, the Cougars are tied for the GWC lead with a 2-1 record. The Cougars' only setback came at Utah Valley to open conference play.
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) has especially enjoyed conference play. She is averaging 15.3 points per game in GWC play.
PARIS WILLIAMS NAMED GWC POTW -
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) took home Great West Conference Player of the Week honors on Jan. 22 for her performance against Nebraska Omaha and NJIT. Williams averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds. She helped CSU to a victory over NJIT with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) scored 18 points in Chicago State's 73-62 victory over Houston Baptist on Jan. 26.

Chicago State had four players score in double-digits during CSU's 58-57 victory over NJIT (Jan. 19).
Jasmine Collins (Richton Park, Ill./Rich South) recorded a career-high 15 points in the game.
