CHICAGO – The Wright State Raiders used a 28-11 run to start the second half en route to an 84-62 win over the Chicago State Cougars Sunday afternoon (Dec. 29) at the Jones Convocation Center.
Junior Tierra William had a team-high 21 points and  three steals for the Cougars. Junior
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and two steals, while freshman
Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) had a career-high 11 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
The Raiders jumped out in front  to start the game before freshman
Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney)' three-pointer at 13:08 mark gave the Cougars their first lead at 9-8.
Angela Jackson's squad would maintain that lead until Wright State scored five straight points to take a 17-15 lead with 9:22 to go. Both teams traded buckets over the final nine minutes of the first half and the Raiders led 36-32 at halftime.Â
The first half featured four lead changes and six ties.

The Raiders started the second half with eight consecutive points, ballooning their lead to 44-32 with 18:08 to go. Chicago State would cut the deficit to eight at 44-36 after a jumper by
Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) at the 16:59 mark, but got no closer.
Wright State had 35 points off of 28 Cougars' turnovers and 25 second chance points helped by their 20 offensive rebounds.
The Summit League foe had four scorers in double-figures led by Kim Dennings' 21 points and seven steals. Ivory James had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Chicago State fell to 2-9 on the season while Wright State improved to 11-3. The Cougars get right back on the court as they take on Loyola Chicago at the Jones Convocation Center on Tuesday (Dec. 31). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.Â
