The Chicago State University men's tennis team traveled to Youngstown, Ohio on Feb. 10 to complete a season opening four-match road swing, but did not fare well losing to host Youngstown State, 7-0.
With the loss, the Cougars saw their record drop to 0-4 for the year.
"Youngstown State is a strong team and these matches are teaching our freshmen a lot, said CSU head coach Jack Barton. “I think they have grown past wanting to be competitive and now they want to win."
This weekend, the Cougars will host three matches at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racket Club in Homewood, Ill., taking on Green Bay on Friday, IUPUI on Saturday, and South Dakota State on Sunday.
