CHICAGO – Sophomore Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) scored in double-digits for the third time this season to lead Chicago State with 10 points in the Cougars' 71-37 loss to Miami (Ohio) on Sunday (Dec. 16) afternoon at the Jones Convocation Center.

Williams also added a season-high seven rebounds. Sophomore Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) scored nine points for the Cougars.

Miami opened up a 20-point halftime lead thanks to Chicago State's struggles from the floor in the first half (6-of-26, 23.1 percent). The Redhawks took a 16-5 lead seven minutes into the contest.

“Right now it just seems to be a struggle for us offensively to find the person that wants to put the ball in the basket and be aggressive,” Chicago State head coach Angela Jackson said. “Probably with the exception of the Williams girls, they both have been looking to score but besides that it seems to be a struggle.”

Jessica Rupright and Kristen Olowinksi led Miami with 12 points apiece.

The Redhawks are now 6-4. Chicago State is 1-9. The Cougars take a one-day break before heading to Indiana State on Tuesday evening for a 7:05 p.m. ET start.
