Chicago State (1-8) returns to the Southside following a stretch of four-straight road games to play Miami (Ohio) (5-4) on Sunday (Dec. 16) afternoon at 2 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY -
Miami leads the all-time series 3-1. The two clubs met last year on Dec. 28, 2011 at Miami. The Redhawks pulled out a 74-60 victory. Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) scored 12 points for the Cougars.

DESTINATION: WAC 2013-14 -
Chicago State has accepted an invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference. The Cougars will join the WAC for the 2013-14 season.

MURPHY'S LAW -
Freshman Layne Murphy (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central) put together made a dent in several stat categories against Rice (Dec. 13). She recorded eight points, eight rebounds, four steals and two blocks.

TAKING IT AWAY -
Chicago State totaled 18 steals against Rice (Dec. 13). It marked the most steals against a Division I opponent since recording 20 against Houston Baptist Feb. 16 of last season.

BLOCK PARTY -
Freshman April Watson (Detroit, Mich./University Prep) recorded five blocks for the Cougars against Western Michigan on Jan. 8. It's the most blocks by a Cougar since Natalie Marlowe (South Milwaukee, WI/South Milwaukee) recorded five against Rice on Nov. 18, 2011.

THE BLOCK DON'T STOP -
The Cougars are second in the Great West Conference in blocks per game with 4.1. Chicago State has 37 blocks on the season.

GET THE WINDEX -
Chicago State leads the Great West Conference in offensive rebounds per game (14.3).

HELPING HAND -
Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) leads the Great West Conference in assists per game (4.0).

SPREADING THE WEALTH -
10 Cougars are averaging double-digit minutes.

CALL IT A CAREER -
Sophomore Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) has already set career highs in points (22 at Missouri), rebounds (9 at Missouri) steals (7 at Rice) and assists (7 three times) this year.

GWC HONORS -
Sophomores Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) and Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) were named to the 2012-13 Great West Conference Preseason Second Team by a vote of the league's head coaches.

SUPER SOPHS -
Sophomores Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville), Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) and Chanel Wilson-Stewart (Hillside, Ill./St. Joseph's) played in all 30 games last season as freshmen.

NO RELATION -
If you were wondering, there is no relation between Paris and Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup).

TAKE IT AWAY -
Chicago State led the Great West Conference in steals last season (12.2). It helped the squad also lead the GWC in turnover margin (+2.47).

WHAT'S UP DOCK? -
The 2013-13 Cougars will have to make up for the loss of Janay Dockery (Detroit, MI/Martin Luther King). Her 18.1 points per game average in 2011-12 led the GWC. Her average was nearly five points more than the second place finisher. Dockery also led the GWC in steals (3.2). Dockerey isn't far though. Dockery is serving as a student-assistant coach this year as she finishes up her degree.

MARLOWE AND BEHOLD -
The Cougars are also without Natalie Marlow following her senior year last year. Marlow led the GWC in assists thanks to 4.4 per game.

IMPORTED FROM DETROIT -
Not surprising, Detroit native Chicago State head coach Angela Jackson has three Cougars from Detroit on the 2012-13 roster. Freshman April Watson (Detroit, Mich./University Prep) and sophomores Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) and Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) all call the Motor City home.

BACK TO YOUR ROOTS -
Angela Jackson went back to another place she called home to find a fourth member of the 2012-13 squad. Junior transfer Brittany Campbell (Indianapolis, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School) comes to Chicago State after two seasons at Old Dominion. Jackson is a 1991 graduate of Old Dominion. Campbell will use the 2012-13 season as a redshirt campaign.

IN NON CONFERENCE PLAY -
The 2012-13 Chicago State schedule features non-conference games with eight NCAA Division I conferences. The slate includes contests with schools from the SEC (Missouri), Big Ten (Northwestern) and Conference USA (Rice).

LIGHTS CAMERAS LAKESHORE -
Chicago State's home contest with Western Illinois on Jan. 29 will be aired live on Lakeshore Public Television. The game will start at 7:00 p.m.
