Women’s Tennis Fares Well at Hotels at Grand Prairie Invite

Juan Rosalia Tejoprayitno teamed with Karyn Emeralda to post a 4-0 doubles mark at the Hotels at Grand Prairie Invitational
CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's tennis team opened its fall slate with a great showing on Sept. 9-11 at the annual Hotels at Grand Prairie Invitational, hosted by Bradley, in Peoria, Ill. CSU produced a 10-5 mark in singles matches and 5-3 record in doubles competition.
 
In her first competition with the Green and White, sophomore Karyn Emeralda (Jakarta, Indonesia/) (Jakarta, Indonesia) posted a 3-0 record in the tournament that concluded with a 7-6, 6-4 win over South Dakota's Nina Barudzic.
 
Seniors Juan Rosalia and Juan Rosalina Tejoprayitno (Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia/Taruna Nusa Harapan) (Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia) each tallied a 3-1 mark in singles play for the Cougars.
 
The tandem of Emeralda and Juan Rosalia dominated in No. 1 doubles play with a 4-0 record which included a thrilling, hard-fought 8-6 win over Shadi Soleymani and Veronika Makashov of USD on the tournament's second day.
