CHICAGO – Junior Jeremy Robinson (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) (Decatur, Ill.) recorded 17 points to lead three Chicago State men's basketball players in double figures as it fell to visiting Toledo, 73-61, in a non-conference battle Saturday afternoon at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center.
Robinson shot 7-of-12 from the field while adding four rebounds and a game-high two blocked shots, while junior Matt Samuels (Washington, DC/South Suburban College) (Washington, D.C.) contributed 15 points.
Graduate student Lee Fisher (Dolton, IL/Northern Illinois) (Dolton, Ill.) recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the Green and White.
Junior Dominique Buckley scored a game-high 21 points to lead Toledo, who also had three players score double figures. Sophomore Matt Smith and freshman Ryan Majerle each added 14 points for the Rockets.
The Cougars are idle for final exams until Saturday when they head north to Rosemont, Ill., to take on DePaul at Allstate Arena with a start time of 1 p.m. The game will be shown live on The U Too (WCUU-TV Channel 26.2 on local television).
