Rosenberg Posts Season-High 19 Points in CSU’s Home Opener

Freshman Clarke Rosenberg recorded a season-best 19 points and four steals in CSU's home opener against Campbell

CHICAGO – Freshman Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) (Skokie, Ill.) tallied a season-best 19 points and four steals as the Chicago State men's basketball team was edged by visiting Campbell by a score of 75-69 in its home opener at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center.

The Camels improved their season record to 4-0, while the Cougars dropped to 0-4 

Rosenberg shot 6-of-13 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line, while junior Jeremy Robinson (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) (Decatur, Ill.) recorded 18 points and two blocked shots. Graduate student Lee Fisher (Dolton, IL/Northern Illinois) (Dolton, Ill.) posted a double-double of 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds with a game-leading six assists for the Green and White.

Campbell had four players scoring in double figures, led by junior Darren White's game-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. Senior Eric Griffin added 17 points, nine rebounds and a game-high five blocks, and freshman Trey Freeman posted 12 points, nine boards and tied Fisher for game-high assist honors with six. 

The Cougars open a three-game road swing this Friday night at Southern Illinois with a start time of 7:05 p.m.
