DETROIT (March 16, 2010) – Chicago State men's tennis closed out a two-day spring break trip through the state of Michigan here today with a 6-0 non-conference loss to Detroit in the first collegiate match played at UDM's Titan Tennis Complex. The Cougars dropped to 0-8 on the year while the Titans improved to 6-5.
CSU was swept in all three doubles matches that included the No. 1 doubles tandem of sophomores Ivan Mojsejev (Novi Sad, Serbia/Isidora Sekulic) (Novi Sad, Serbia) and Jerrick Boone (Chicago, IL/Morgan Park) (Chicago, Ill.) falling to UDM's Pjotrs Necajevs and Alex Latosinsky by a score of 8-2.
The Titans posted sweeps in five of the six singles contests with Mojsejev recording points in a 6-0, 6-3 defeat to Necajevs in the No. 1 singles match.
The Cougars return to action on April 1 when they battle Olivet Nazarene at the Homewood-Flossmoor Courts with a start time of 1 p.m.
