WICHITA, Kan. – The Chicago State men's basketball team concluded its seven-game road swing here tonight with a 91-51 defeat to host Wichita State at Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers improved to 5-1 on the year and the Cougars dropped to 2-6.
Senior Carl Montgomery (Chicago, IL/Shepard) (Chicago, Ill.) led CSU with 10 points and two steals, while fellow senior Hajji Martin (Chicago, IL/Morgan Park) (Chicago, Ill.) added eight points and a game-high eight rebounds. Senior Antonio Lofton (Chicago, IL/Parkland College) (Chicago, Ill.) contributed seven points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field.
David Kyles recorded a game-leading 15 points on 5-of7 shooting from three-point range and added two blocked shots for Wichita State. Demetric Williams scored 14 points and J.T. Durley tallied 11 points on the evening.
The Cougars will face their second straight Missouri Valley Conference opponent this Saturday afternoon as they host Southern Illinois at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center with the tip-off set for 4:30 p.m.
