A native of Villa Park, Ill., Salvador Uriostegui heads into his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Chicago State women’s soccer program.
Uriostegui came to the Cougars in 2017 after serving as a coach for the club’s U8-U12 boys and girls teams at the Lyons Township (Ill.) Soccer Club. He has also worked with Chicago Fire’s Soccer in the Community program as a Summer Camp Coach and Community Ambassador in 2015.
Uriostegui began his coaching career in 2013 as an assistant coach at Willowbrook (Ill.) High School after playing three seasons at NCAA Division III Elmhurst (Ill.) College from 2009-12. He helped the Bluejays win the 2009 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) title and compete in the 2009 NCAA Division III Championship.
Uriostegui received his Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science and psychology from Elmhurst in 2014 and holds licenses from the United Soccer Coaches (Level 2 Diploma) and the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (E and D License).
