Michael Hermon heads into his first season with Chicago State men’s basketball as Director of Player Personnel.

Hermon arrives to CSU after serving as a mentor for the Youth Advocate Program, a summer camp geared towards Chicago-area at-risk youth at South Shore High School on the city’s south side, from 2009-11. He helped kids sharpen their life skills with the help of basketball for use during their everyday live.

Before his stint with the YAP program, Hermon graduated from King High School in 1994 where he was named Chicago Public League Player of the Year by the Chicago Sun-Times and was a two-time all-state selection. He helped King capture the Public League and IHSA Class AA state titles as a junior in 1992-93 with a perfect 32-0 record. Hermon became the first Public League player to play for legendary coach Bob Knight at Indiana University in 1994-95.

Hermon currently resides in Chicago.
