Baronton Terry

Baronton Terry was named the associate head men’s basketball coach for the Cougars men's basketball team August 11, 2021.
 
Terry joins the Cougars men’s basketball program after more than 20 years in the high school ranks, most recently leading Olympic High School in Charlotte, N.C., to conference championships each season he coached the program (2017-21), and was named Southwest 4A Coach of the Year on three occasions (2017, 2019, 2020). Prior to leading OHS, he was the head coach at West Charlotte High School (2008-16) where he earned three regional championships (2008, 2009, 2010), a North Carolina state 4A championship (2011), state 4A runner up (2012) and was a two-time regional finalist (2014, 2015). Terry was also named Southwest 4A Coach of the Year at West Charlotte in 2016.
 
Terry started his high school coaching career at Miami (FL) Northwestern High School where he earned Miami Dade County Coach of the Year following his first two seasons (1998, 1999) before earning State of Florida Regional Championships four consecutive seasons (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004). During his high school coaching tenure he has been named Coach of the Year six times.
