TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Chicago State (0-3-0) fell to Indiana State (3-1-0) with a final score of 5-1 on Sunday at Memorial Stadium. CSU managed six shots with three on target, while its goalie recorded eight saves in the match.
 
The match commenced with Indiana State quickly establishing dominance over Chicago State, taking the lead in the 4th minute with a goal by Quinn Urquhart, assisted by Riley Mathews and Ava Evans. Indiana State extended its advantage to 2-0 in the 15th minute when Mathews found the back of the net, again with an assist from Evans. The Cougars struggled to break through Indiana State's defense, while goalkeeper Kamila Aguilar made multiple saves to keep her team in contention. However, Indiana State secured a 3-0 lead by the 34th minute with a goal from Emely Lopez, assisted by Dasha Tuckova and Kaitlynn Long, as the first period concluded.
 
Indiana State secured a commanding lead early in the second period with CharlieBleu Saunders scoring in the 66th minute, assisted by Elise McDonald and Kaitlynn Long. Despite multiple attempts by Chicago State, including a saved shot by Ameerah Kolleff in the 85th minute, Indiana State extended its advantage to 5-0 with a goal from Dasha Tuckova in the 85th minute, assisted by Ashlyn Cohen and Emely Lopez. CSU managed to break through with a goal by Alana Garcia, assisted by Ameerah Kolleff, in the 89th minute. The match concluded with Indiana State maintaining a 5-1 victory.
 
Kamila Aguilar recorded eight saves for the Cougars, facing 17 shots in a challenging match. Alana Garcia notched once, contributing two points to the team's effort. Ameerah Kolleff provided an assist and took three shots, two of which were on target.
 
In their next game, CSU will face off against Western Illinois University on Thursday, Sept. 3. The match will take place in Macomb, Illinois, as Chicago State continues its early-season road schedule.
