Chicago, Ill. — Chicago State University Head Football Coach Bobby Rome II spent time this morning empowering young scholars at Robert A. Black Magnet Elementary School, serving as a featured guest at the school's
Men Inspiring Men's Conference. The event, designed to motivate and guide young boys toward leadership and academic excellence, brought together influential male role models from across the city.
During his session, Coach Rome shared his personal journey from growing up as a multi-sport athlete, to competing at the highest levels of college football, to reaching the NFL, and ultimately transitioning into coaching. He spoke candidly about perseverance, discipline, and the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences.
After sharing his story, Rome opened the floor for a Q&A, giving students the chance to ask about football, life choices, and what it takes to succeed. His message centered on resilience and believing in one's potential, themes that resonated strongly with the young audience.
"Opportunities like this matter," Rome said after the event. "If even one student walks away believing they can achieve something bigger than they imagined, then the day was a success."
