CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago State women's basketball is set to open its home schedule on Thursday, November 5, as the Cougars welcome Mississippi Valley State University to the Jones Convocation Center for their 2026-27 home opener. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
Under the leadership of head coach Corry Irvin, Chicago State enters the new season with a combination of returning experience and fresh talent looking to make an impact. After opening the season on the road against Illinois State, the Cougars will look to regroup and build momentum in front of their home crowd.
Leading the returning group is junior guard Keona McGee, who enters the season following an impressive sophomore campaign that earned her Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team All-Conference honors. McGee will be joined by senior guards Chloe Sisco, Paris Bass and Brianna Hill, providing valuable experience and leadership to the Cougars' lineup.
Chicago State also welcomes a talented group of newcomers, including freshmen Mia Carter, Aunyai' Deere, Eva Young, Emmanuelle Kaldjob and Mazzy O'Brien. The new additions bring added depth and versatility as the Cougars continue to develop their identity on both ends of the court.
Thursday's matchup marks the beginning of a two-game homestand for Chicago State, which will return to action Saturday, November 7, against Texas State. The Cougars will look to take advantage of their home-court opportunity as they continue through a challenging November schedule.
