CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — The Chicago State women's soccer team lost to Long Island University 1-0 in a Northeast Conference matchup on Sunday (Oct. 4) at LIU Soccer Park. LIU improved to 3-7-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play while The Cougars are now 1-11-0 overall and 1-4-0 in conference play.
First Half

Kamila Aguilar handled an early LIU chance, saving Casey Beauregard's shot at :45.
- LIU pressed again from 12:56 to 19:20 with three corner kicks and three shots, but Aguilar saved attempts from Kaylie Govoni and Beauregard before Kaleigh West shot wide.
- Chicago State generated its best late stretch with shots from
Dejanae Butler,
Selena Poveda-Barrios and
Morgan Perry between 38:23 and 40:12, with Perry's effort saved by Skylinne Avalos.
- Aguilar added another save on Emma Panagiotakopoulos at 44:22, and the half ended without a goal.
Second Half
- Aguilar made saves on LIU shots at 46:20 and 61:18 to keep the match scoreless early in the half.
- LIU went ahead 1-0 at 68:08 when Casey Beauregard scored off an assist from Emma Panagiotakopoulos.
- CSU answered with a corner kick at 72:34 and four shots through 78:08, including a saved attempt by Poveda-Barrios.
- Aguilar added saves at 79:57 and 85:08 during a late LIU stretch, while Stephanie Vazquez Ceron had the Cougars' final shot at 84:25 before LIU finished the 1-0 result.
Aguilar recorded eight saves over 90 minutes, making four in each half. Poveda-Barrios led Chicago State with three shots and put one on goal.
Ameerah Kolleff added two shots.
