Chicago State Women's Soccer Falls to FDU on the Road Thursday

TEANECK, N.J. — The Chicago State women's soccer team lost to FDU 6-0 in a Northeast Conference matchup on Thursday (October 1) at Macron Stadium in Teaneck, New Jersey.

First Half
- The Cougars kept the match scoreless through an early Knights push that included four shots and two corner kicks before the 18th minute.
- FDU moved in front at 17:45 on Nadia Wojcik's goal from Laura Martinez, then made it 2-0 at 20:27 when Candela Espana scored off Andrea Araujo's assist.
- The Knights added goals from Kelsey Spears at 33:37 and Marina Burzaco at 38:26, with Ana Salas assisting on both.
- Kamila Aguilar made a save on Spears at 41:08, and the Knights carried a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Second Half
- FDU opened the half with pressure from 48:16 to 59:49, hitting the woodwork and forcing saves by Aguilar on shots from Candela Espana and Ana Salas as CSU kept the score at 4-0.
- Ameerah Kolleff put a shot on goal for the Cougars at 49:30, and Aguilar added another save at 61:14 before the Knights hit the woodwork again at 70:08.
- Andrea Araujo scored for FDU off a Marina Burzaco assist at 72:39 to make it 5-0.
- Alana Garcia had a late attempt for Chicago State at 83:11, but Madeline Marricco scored from Allison Nase at 85:34 as the Knights finished with a 6-0 win.

Aguilar played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded four saves. Kolleff put her lone shot on goal. Garcia added one shot.

The Knights improved to 6-2-3 overall and 4-0-0 in conference play.

UP NEXT
The Cougars travel to Brooklyn, N.Y., to face LIU on Sunday, Oct. 4. Kickoff time is TBD at LIU Soccer Park.
