CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC has released their Indoor Track and Field women's preseason poll for the 2025-26 season on Friday. The Cougars were voted to a fourth place finish, coming off the heels of a fourth place team finish at the 2025 NEC Indoor Championships.
The Cougars were voted by the conference's head coaches behind defending team champions Wagner, followed by Stonehill, and Central Connecticut. Saint Francis, FDU, LIU, New Haven, Mercyhurst, and Le Moyne follwed the Cougars to round out the poll. Wagner earned five of the ten first place votes, while Chicago State received one first vote.Â

The Chicago State women's track and field team are set to open their season on Friday, December 5 by hosting the annual Cougar Alumni Open from The Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park with field events beginning at 2:00 p.m. and running events at 5:00 p.m.
 The Cougars will then return to the The Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park after the Holidays by competing at the Wisconsin Midwest Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin on January 10.Â
