New Britain, CT - Central Connecticut State used a strong second half to pull away from Chicago State (2-20, 2-5 NEC) in a 81-64 victory on Sunday afternoon.
After a tightly contest first half, the Blue Devils for red hot scoring 51 points and shooting 53.3% from the field and 55.6% from beyond the arc. Devin Haid led Central Connecticut State with 17 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the field while Joe Ostrowsky contributed 11 points, including a crucial three-pointer during the second-half surge.
Fresh off a season-high 25 points in CSU's last outing against Stonehill,
Gabe Spinelli was a standout performer with 13 points and five rebounds.
Saxby Sunderland added 10 points off the bench while
Quincy Allen added a team-high eight boards.
The Cougars will regroup as they get ready to take on NEC leader, LIU on Saturday Feb. 1 at the Jones Convocation Center.
