Box Score Chicago State freshman
Maya Dixon scored her first collegiate goal in a 2-1 loss to Purdue Fort Wayne Sunday afternoon at the Hefner Sports Complex in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Mastadons scored in the 36th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. UPFW then found the back of the net again in the 80th minute before Dixon scored in the 86th minute to cut the Mastodons lead in half.
Delaney Kenney led the Cougars in shots with five while
Saige Thor registered three including a team-leading two on goal. The Cougars outshot the Mastadons 16-9 and 7-5 in shots on goal but UPFW goalkeeper Jordan Ames came up with six saves.
The Cougars will be back in action Thursday, September 12, hosting Miami Ohio at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep at 7 p.m.
