Box Score The Chicago State women's soccer team lost to Detroit Mercy 5-0 Thursday afternoon at Titan Field in Detroit. The teams were deadlocked 0-0 through the first 30 minutes of play before the Titans scored in the 31st and 39th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. UDM capitalized with three more tallies in the second half for the 5-0 win.
After getting out-shot 11-6 in the first half, the Cougars cut that margin to 5-4 in the second half, led by Barbie Castellanos,
Maya Dixon and
Mari Williams who each registered a pair of shots while Dixon and Williams were each credited with one shot on goal.
The Cougars will be back in action Sunday, traveling to Fort Wayne, Indiana to face Purdue Fort Wayne at 1 p.m. at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
