Box Score The Chicago State women's soccer team lost their NEC road opener at Howard 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium in Washington, D.C.
The teams played to a 0-0 first half tie with the Cougars holding an advantage in shots, 7-5. The Bison scored the game's first goal in the 52nd minute and netted another nine minutes later for a 2-0 lead which would be the eventual final. Howard held the shot advantage in the second half, 11-3, and shots on goal for the game, 7-2.
Delaney Kenney was credited with five shots while both
Hannah Bennett and
Mari Williams each had a shot on goal. Cougars goal keeper
Jay Arballo had five saves.
The Cougars will be back in action Thursday, October 3, hosting Wagner College at 12 p.m. at Stuart Field on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
