Box Score Playing in their first Northeast Conference matchup in any sport, the Chicago State women's soccer team lost to Saint Francis 1-0 Thursday night at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep in Chicago.
The game's only goal came late in the contest when Alyssa Mella found the back of the net for SFU in the 81st minute after the Cougars 5-3 advantage in shots. Chicago State's
Jackie Tamayo led all players with two shots, both on goal while Triinity Babcock,
Katie Dohnel and
Saige Thor were each credited with one.
The Cougars will be in conference play for the remainder of the season and the next opportunity will be Sunday, September 22 against Fairleigh Dickinson at University Stadium in Teaneck, New Jersey.
