Chicago State University's women's basketball team is gearing up for the 2024-25 season, releasing their schedule today which features a mix of high-profile non-conference matchups and key Northeast Conference (NEC) contests. The Cougars, led by first-year head coach Corry Irvin, will take on some of the top programs in the nation as they look to make their mark this season.
The Cougars tip off their season with back-to-back road games, opening at Iowa State November 4 and at Butler November 6. Following their home opener on November 9 against Cleveland State, Chicago State will hit the road again to face Florida on November 12.
An early-season marquee matchup includes Arizona at home on November 16 while the Cougars will also face Mississippi State at the Jones Convocation Center December 8, in another key test before the conference season begins. Chicago State wraps up its non-conference schedule against Southern Methodist and North Texas on December 20-21.
Chicago State's debut season in the NEC kicks off with home games against Wagner (Jan. 2) and LIU (Jan. 4). The team will travel to Stonehill on January 9 before a string of critical home games, including a return matchup against Stonehill (Jan. 25) and Saint Francis (March 1).
"Our team is ready for the challenges ahead as we prepare for our first season in the NEC," said Irvin. "The non-conference schedule will provide us with opportunities to grow, and we're excited to compete against some of the top programs in the country, including Iowa State, Florida, Oklahoma State while bringing Arizona and Mississippi State to the Jones Convocation Center."
